We have discussed the golf club already, so the next steps now. * Learn the swing * Find a mentor * Enjoy the game Learn the swing The common mistake of beginners is to give their swing all the power they can muster. This may bring your ball forward but the direction may be the problem. The recommendation is for you to learn how to comfortably swing your golf club that it will give your ball direction and distance. 

You may find it difficult to use the driver on the tee but you may practice your swing and later on, you will be comfortable. Of course, because different players have their different comfortable clubs, you may therefore need to recognize which one is yours and practice that particular club as much as you can. 

The above are general rules and golf associations follow them. Other golf associations employ minor revisions to the golfing rules but the above rules are always part of them. The rules however are not enough if you cannot follow the ethical rules on the green. Golf etiquette - Respect other players, as you wish to be respected. 

To execute your swing well you may need a mentor to guide you, choose a mentor and surely, in time, you will be able to execute you swing well. However, this is not the end. There is but one more part of the actual golf swing, the follow-through. What is the follow-through? It is in the follow-through where you release all the force and finishes the swing. 

Make sure you cultivate the right mentality and develop a good training and practice schedule, then you will able to improve your game as you won t be easily discouraged even when you don t get it right in your first attempts. When you have the right mentality, your initial failures and setbacks are perceived as part of the process of getting better and becoming a master golfer. 

You however do not need to purchase costly golf clubs; your comfort is the focus and you should try to look for your golf club intelligently. Finally, walking is another form of exercise; avoid using the golf cart. However, if you must make sure it is what your coach has advised. Your doctor should also have a say, if you can continue golf.
